oscar wilde and de profundis

In my opinion, one of the brightest, bravest, and idiosyncratic writer is Oscar Wilde. His distinctive sarcastic, sometimes cold, but often heartfelt voice makes me finish his books in one fell swoop. Oscar Wilde is an Irish writer who lived in the late Victorian era in Britain. Considering the rigidity of the people, the country, and the queen in the Victorian era, Oscar Wilde cuts this harsh and sharp period into pieces with his pen. Also, he is a writer who only manages to turn the country upside down with his aestheticism based ideas and life, his many theatre plays and one single novel which is The Picture of Dorian Gray. Unfortunately, he generally stands out for his homosexuality rather than his authorship. However, for me, it is a certain and well-known fact that no personal situation can overshadow his mind, outlook on life, and the cleverness of his writings. As Andre Gidé said, "He was a man of life." According to his close friends, Oscar Wilde was a maste

some words

These are some parts of my personal notes that I took from several books, authors, philosophers, designers, directors, etc. They mean a lot while I am reading/watching and I hope you find some pieces that mean to yourself too!  (a work by me) Time destroys all.  -Gaspar Noe, Love (2015)  To those, who made us who we are and who can not be here right now. -Gaspar Noe, Climax (2018) I had no intention of making things understandable to others that I could not even fully explain to myself.  -Stefan Zweig People dream of turning back rather than leaving. -Paulo Coelho You want to learn the way to win, but you don't want to admit defeat. To accept defeat, to learn to die means to become independent from it. When tomorrow comes, you must free your ambitious mind and learn the art of dying, my friend.- Bruce Lee I mean, who would turn to look at their own shadow? -Stefan Zweig "Of course, it sounds strange for the one who cannot understand." Living is a selfish act. -Gaspar Noe

requiem for a dream close-up scenes

Requiem For a Dream is a film by Darren Aronofsky released in 2000 based on the book by Hubert Selby Jr. The reason why I wanted to write about the close-up scenes in the movie is related to the short photo roman movie made by Chris Marker, La Jetée that we watched last week in our studio class. La Jetée impressed me a lot in terms of close-up photography and of course its visual, emotional, and communicative sides. So that I am focusing on the close-up scenes and their meaning from one of my favorite movies Requiem For a Dream.    I think close-ups are one of the most important and memorable shootings. Because rather than giving a whole point of view, it gives the most important and the specific part. Although every scene in the movie has significance and meaning, some scenes need to be more prominent and more impressive than the rest, as in most of the things in life. Close-up scenes give that privilege such as conveying the emotional states and it provides empathy with the actor&#

fatboy slim - praise you

Fatboy Slim's praise you music clip is among the most interesting and sincere clips I've ever watched. It was a very organic idea for a group of dancers to dance in a quite random place and among random people, sometimes regularly and sometimes without rules, including natural scenes in itself.  Looking at the lyrics of the song and considering the band's creation of a music video with this concept, I think it makes sense to congratulate these people there for what they have done or not done so far.  My favorite scene in the clip was the dancer hugging someone there like a koala. This scene made me feel like everyone wants to do this to at least one person in their life. At least I want to do for a few people :)  The release date of the video clip was 1999 and some devices could have been higher resolution than the visual quality in the clip. However, I think that the low resolution of the clip is due to the wishes of the group members. Because I believe that high reso
