These are some parts of my personal notes that I took from several books, authors, philosophers, designers, directors, etc. They mean a lot while I am reading/watching and I hope you find some pieces that mean to yourself too!

the kiss and shutter island

     Adaptation of some famous paintings to movie scenes, video clips have become common in the contemporary era. Gustav Klimt's  The Kiss  painting and Martin Scorsese's  Shutter Island movie  hugging scene is the painting - mise-en-scène adaptation I will mention about.      Reading Kafka is like steering through a dark and low cave, making myself feel stuck and receding. But while he is taking me to this place, he did not neglect to put very valuable ores there.      Franz Kafka was born in Prague in 1883. He is a son of a Jewish family. He wrote all his works in German instead of his mother tongue Czech. Besides being a very passive and introverted mother, he has an extremely despotic and ambitious father.       Kafka, -who is the son of a father who gets whatever he wants- is not like his father at all. While his father has a rather strong and bulky physique, Kafka is rather thin and frail. His father realizes that his son is physically flawed, he also realizes Kafka's character is not tough and assertive like himself but he is more naive and soft. rhythm 0 or death of humanity

       “..I will stand for 6 hours. You can do whatever you want to me with these objects. I take responsibility for what will happen.”       The sentence above was a note written on Marina Abramović's body during her Rhythm 0 performance.    Marina Abramović is a Serbian conceptual and performance artist, philanthropist, writer, and filmmaker. Her work explores body art, endurance art, and feminist art; the relationship between the performer and audience, the limits of the body, and the possibilities of the mind.      Rhythm 0  was a six-hour work of performance art by Abramović in Naples in 1974. The work involved her standing still while the audience was invited to do to her whatever they wished, using one of 72 objects she had placed on a table.  This table contained all sorts of random items, from flowers to chocolate cakes, from chains to knives.
